Happy 2nd Blogiversary!

Friends, this week marks the second year Blogiversary since I published my very first post at Whimsical Blue Living! Hooray!

Whimsical Blue Living

It’s been two years since I started posting at Whimsical Blue Living!

These past two years have been such an incredible journey full of adventure, inspiration, and growth. When I think back to the beginning of my dream, this beautiful little corner of the internet is exactly what I wanted to create. A place full of inspiration, encouragement, empowerment, and a real-life example of dreams coming true. And I’m not just talking about our little castle, although that’s clearly one of my dreams that we’ve turned into reality! This blog is a big part of my dream to be creative and put good things out into the world. To be able to take my ideas, stories, and all the things that thrill my soul and combine them into this beautiful little blog of mine is such an unbelievable dream come true!

As a creative soul, the desire to shape something new into existence is powerful. It’s as natural and as necessary to me as breathing. The world around me is full of so much inspiration, and everywhere I go I take it all in. That inspiration builds up inside of me, a swirl of words and images in my mind. I have stories and ideas that I’ve carried with me for months, and even sometimes years, just waiting to be ready to share with the world. I turn the ideas around in my mind, crafting them into the message I’m trying to convey. And once I reach that point in the creative process the words just flow, like magic. There is nothing else quite like that feeling!

Of course, the writing process isn’t always easy or magical, and that’s where discipline and commitment come into play. The process of writing and creating during a busy phase of life is perhaps even more important than the times when my creativity just flows, because it is the conscious effort to participate in an activity that I know benefits me greatly. Much like people who exercise to keep their bodies healthy, I write and create and share because it is good for my mind and soul. This little blog of mine has helped me learn, stretch, and grow, and it makes life very interesting!

And so, here are some of my favorite posts from this past year. There is so much to celebrate!

My youngest wanted to join in the fun of the photo shoot. Isn’t he the cutest?

Also, I have an exciting project that I’ve been working on recently, and I’m almost to the point where I can announce it to you!!! It is an absolute dream come true, and I can’t wait to tell you the news! (And no, it’s not a baby.) Keep checking back in the next few weeks, and be sure to follow Whimsical Blue Living on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for inspiration and sneak peeks of our latest project. And if you sign up for our newsletter you’ll receive an email every Sunday morning with the posts from the week. That way you never miss a post (and our exciting announcement coming soon!)

8 years ago by whimsicalblue My husband surprised me last night with this gorgeous azalea tree for Valentine's Day! My favorite part was when I asked him how to care for it. There was a pause, then he smiled and said, "Oh, I'm not sure. I didn't expect it to live that long." He knows me so well! When I laughed and assured him I would do my best to keep it alive, he gave me a hug and said in a reassuring voice, "Let's just enjoy it while it lasts." He knows me so well and yet still buys me flowers because he loves…

Welcome To Our Reason

Life has an interesting way of changing our plans, even the really good plans we make for all the right reasons. When we sold our stone house almost two years ago it was with the intention to live near my shop and closer to my husband’s work and simplify our lives. We rented a loft […]
