Friends, I’m so excited to FINALLY tell you about the project we’re working on!!! My husband and I recently purchased a historic storefront in a nearby town, and I’m opening Whimsy & Blue Boutique! My shop will have home décor items, ladies clothing and jewelry, beautiful handcrafted items made by talented artisans, and special vintage and antique pieces. It will be a beautiful blend of old and new items with my signature whimsical style. And of course, there will be lots of blue! I’ve been working on this project for several months, collecting tons of crystal chandeliers and vintage display furniture, researching amazing inventory, and connecting with lots of talented artisans who make stunning pieces! Supporting both creative designers and businesses that put good things into the world are very important to me, and I’m thrilled with the collection that has been curated for the shop. It’s going to be such an inspiring shopping experience!

We are planning to open in about a month, giving you plenty of time to shop for the upcoming holiday season! And if you aren’t local, I’m working on an online portion of the boutique as well so you can share in all the fun! I’ll be sure to update you on both the opening date and the progress of the online shop. This is such an amazing adventure, and I’m so happy that I can finally share it with you!
We are currently working on our historic building, and we’ve had some wonderful surprises, like beautiful original hardwood floors, and really cool exposed brick! There are gorgeous pressed tin ceiling tiles, and I’m bringing in my favorite vintage crystal chandeliers!
The ceilings are the first thing I saw when we toured the place, and it was love at first sight!

The building was being used for a yarn shop when we bought it, which is now moving into the building next door. So you can come and shop for all sorts of pretty things! I’ll be sure to share all the wonderful places to visit in the town of Elmore, Ohio, in an upcoming post. It’s such a beautiful town, everyone has welcomed us, and we are so excited to make this dream of mine come true!

So now you know why I’ve been a little quiet on this corner of the internet recently! Starting a business like this takes a tremendous amount of time, research, and creative energy. I like to joke that I’ve earned a business degree from Google! But it’s the kind of work that doesn’t really feel like work, and that’s how I know it’s meant to be. I have so many amazing stories to share with you about this adventure, the process of us finding our beautiful storefront, and the wonderful people we’ve met along the way. Oh friends, I am so happy!
I will be sure to post more often now that you know what I’m up to, and I’ll let you know the opening date as soon as we have it finalized! Right now we are in the construction phase, which you know I love. It’s so nice to be able to work on this project all day, and then go back home each night and leave the mess behind. I am having the best time!

I LOVE demo day! This is perhaps not the safest decision I’ve ever made. I don’t recommend trying this. Don’t worry, the displays are down, and I’m safe!
