Friends, how do I even begin to write about this beautiful dream come true? Whimsy & Blue Boutique, this gem of an idea that I’ve carried in my heart for years, now exists in real life, and it’s even better than I imagined (and you know I imagine a lot)! To stand in this space and see how all the details have come together is amazing!
There are so many stories I want to tell you, so many interesting things that have come together in such a way that I know this building and shop were meant to be ours. I’m just bursting with so many things I want to write about! But for now, I’ll show you pictures of some of my favorite details in the shop.
I knew when I set out to open a shop that I wanted to create a space where people felt seen, not just sold to. A place that felt welcoming and inspiring, that filled people up and put good things into the world. So, I searched for quality items, connected with local makers in both Ohio and Michigan, and partnered with larger companies that give back a portion of their profits. Every piece in the store has a story, a deeper meaning or connection behind it, and a larger purpose than just looking pretty. Because I don’t just want to sell pretty things, I want to make the world a better place.
I’m thrilled to share with you that Whimsy & Blue Boutique is helping to support The Miryante Orphanage in Uganda, Africa. Do you remember the orphanage that my cousin helped start, the one that I had the privilege to visit this summer? A portion of our profits goes directly to the orphanage to help provide shelter, food, clothing, education, and healthcare for the children who call Miryante home.
Friends, thank you for supporting this dream come true! Thank you for your excitement and encouragement, and for giving me the courage to chase this dream. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude!
The website for Whimsy & Blue Boutique is in the works, so until it is live you can follow us on Facebook and Instagram. And be sure to check out the blog Whimsical Blue Living on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest to share in our old house adventures!
Have a beautiful day!
